Ciao! I’m Kylie, originally from Massachusetts but have called a few places ‘home’. After watching MaryKate & Ashley jet off to the coolest vacation spots & hours of playing Carmen Sandiego, I, unknowingly, developed this innate love for travel. Some 10 year olds had posters of Zac Efron on their bedroom walls, I had pictures of iconic landmarks in France & England. When my older brother studied abroad, I promised myself I’d do the same. I even graduated with a degree in Tourism! I also put a goal in place that I’d travel to 25 countries by the time I turned 25. Nothing stopped me from obtaining these dreams of mine. Not even that outline for ‘success’ that society pushes: Go to college, get a job, work your ass off to save money for your future, get married, blah, blah, blah. While studying in Italy & exploring much of Europe in 2015, I knew that when I graduated from college I would not be scanning Indeed for job listings. While everyone brushed up their resume, I booked one way flights, cooked meals with local people in a village & zip lined over rain forests. It’s been 5 years out of college & I haven’t found my fit in “the real world”. But maybe “the real world” is, in fact, these places that I seek. In the bigger picture - outside of an office cubicle, that IS the REAL world.. isn’t it?
